Hello and thank you for coming here. My name is Eleanor ('Elly') Veness, I'm a 23 year old student from Oxford, United Kingdom. I'm always looking for new inspiration and to develop my ideas, and am continually stimulated and encouraged by viewing other artists' work. Sometimes life stumbles and trundles along. Sometimes life absorbs you and slows down as though walking through syrup; sometimes life presents you with a succession of years that can be held in your hand and peered into much like a snowglobe - or a single haunting moment frozen in an eternal state. On rare occasions, there comes an opportunity where life brazenly winks at you and bids you grab it by the balls and be in charge for once. It is in these awakened, cosmic, 'out of the blue' occurances that we must act like gamblers and stake our bets, against any rational odds, to abandon our nesting little comforts and nagging insecurities.

I should really make a habit of writing here more often. Well, it's been an eventful past 7-8 months or so, filled to the brim with ups and downs. To summarise: Travelling for a month and a half was bloody awesome (Angkor Wat! Full Moon Party with best friend! Australian people! Getting lost by myself on a bike in Vietnam! Taj Mahal!), coming back wasn't.
Bad news: I've had to defer my year at University because I haven't been at all well; good news: I've been hospitalised and am already a lot better as a result. I went into hospital apprehensive, wondering how on earth my life had come to such a crux, and desperate for answers to the questi

thanks for the favorite of The Gathering! have you noticed that your portrait is making the 'rounds, so to speak? It has been featured allot. I plan on returning to portraiture after I finish the latest large piece....
